I inherited a set of chalk pastels in a lovely wooden case from my grandad who was a fabulous artist, working mainly in oils and pastels. I hadn't really touched them for years, mainly because chalk has a way of putting my teeth on edge. But I felt the need to do something looser than my usual Totems, so I gritted my teeth (literally) and got on with it! The result was the charming Macavity Cat.
